THE CLIENT

The Compete Caribbean Partnership Facility (CCPF) is a private sector development program working in 13 countries across the Caribbean region. It is a partnership between the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), and the Government of Canada.

THE CHALLENGE

Despite the popularity of cluster development projects in different parts of the world, such as Europe and Latin America, this tool has not been widely adopted in countries in the Caribbean. Some Business Support Organizations in the region have worked with clusters but very frequently they lack knowledge in this area and tend to commit mistakes that other regions have avoided. As part of the Compete Caribbean program, Competitiveness, in association with the Competitiveness Company from Jamaica, delivered training for professionals in different countries in the Caribbean and assisted in the design of Cluster Development Plans.
